It looks to be a great and informative day. I’m just sorry that I can’t go myself.

Please do keep sharing the link to my campaign with your friends. I really appreciate all your support so far but it isn’t over yet. Let’s give this thing one final push and see how high we can get that final total.

Here’s that link for you. http://igg.me/at/jogarnerfundingplightforrca/x/11385722.

The opportunity has come up to drive down to London with my flatmate and drop a lof of my stuff off so I’ll be away from my laptop for most of it. I’m relying on you to keep sharing the post (Don’t look at me like that, yes you. ) Let’s do this folks. We’ve got it in the bag.

PS there may be some video blogging from the drive so I’ll let you know how that turns out.

Ambitious New Goals

Hello all you fabulous wonderful people. I am delighted to be blogging about the fact that we managed to smash through my original crowd funding target of £3,500 on Thursday!! Thank you all so much. The support has been incredible and I really feel that everyone is behind me in embarking on this new adventure. It’s an amazing feeling.

While I get to grips with the reality of moving to London and the logistical nightmare that it may be, there are still 10 days left of the campaign. I’m setting an ambitious stretch goal of £6,500 which would enable me to pay the first full years tuition fees in September. Imagine that. Getting it paid in September and not having to worry about it for the first year would allow me to focus more on the important part of going to the Royal College, the studies, and not have to worry about continually fundraising to pay fees. I realise it’s an ambitious ask to raise this amount in 10 days but hey, we are almost at £4000 already so anything’s possible. Please do keep sharing within your networks. New perks are being added all the time. Most recently Islay Spalding donated a couple of items of her amazing work. Check them out below.

I’ll be spending this week in a frenzy of getting commissions finished and starting to get organised. I’ll also be writing a new press release in the hope to get a bit of extra campaign buzz before it ends in 10 days time so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Thanks so much again for all you have done so far. You guys put the crowd in crowdfunding.

Speak to you soon.

Jewellery Tastic Rewards

So just over 3 weeks in and we have raised £3013 through my crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo!! This is massive. It’s  huge, It’s totally bloody amazing. Thank you all so much for all your support so far. It means the world to me and makes a massive difference to my future development. In the last week I have, handed in my notice to my part time job at Westwoods Health Club, handed in my notice and found a flatmate to take my place in the place that has been my home for the last 6 years and handed my notice in to my lovely workshop space at Precious Metals Workshop. It’s happening people. I am going to London!

I realise we are not quite at the target of £3,500 yet but a decision needed to be made and action had to be taken as I had left things a little last minute. And thanks to your fantastic support if we reach the current target before the allocated time is up I can add in a new one and hopefully raise more money that can help pay the full tuition fees for the first year. Imagine that. Imagine being able to pay the first years tuition fees (£6,500) upfront in September. It would be a truly magical experience. So let’s aim for that shall we? Dream big and all that.

To help us get there there have been more lovely donations from some of my fantastic jeweller friends. Some beautiful things that would be perfect as a Christmas present to someone or a treat for yourself. Because we all know you deserve it, dont we? Click on the image below if you see something you like and would like to donate/purchase.

Next thing to do is start packing things up. I’ll be leaving Edinburgh in less than a month now and there is so much to do in so little time.

Best get cracking then.

Keeping it Perky

Two weeks in to the campaign now and we’ve already raised 66% of the overall target, which is £3,500. One of the most amazing things about this project has been how supported I’ve felt by the Scottish craft community and further afield by artists and contributors from as far away as Arizona. It feels brilliant to be a part of and I’m so glad I got myself together and launched this project.

There are still 26 days to go though and something which has been great to keep it all fresh and exciting is that more and more artists are getting in touch and donating their work to be used as rewards for contributions made. Click on the images to be taken directly to the donations page.

These are just some of the amazing rewards that were generously donated by the talented creative people of Scotland. If you would like to keep up to date with what is being added just check the Facebook Event page for more info or just keep checking back at the Indiegogo site.

Chow for now.

50% and climbing…

Wow, what a response to the first 10 days of my crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. We have smashed through 50% of the overall target and are now sitting at £1928. Many more artists have gotten in touch and donated their amazing works to the cause, which is a good thing as some things sold out within the first 3 days. The campaign is fast becoming an excellent showcase of the finest Scottish Craft with award winning makers such as Lara ScobieKathryn Hinton, Fiona Thompson and James Donald donating items. You can browse a Facebook album of the rewards here.

The generosity of both artists and contributors so far has been incredible and I am very proud to be a part of such a supportive creative community. With just over 31 days to go of the campaign it seems likely that I may exceed my target of £3500 for half the tuition fees for the first year. We are not there yet though so let’s keep up the good work and keep sharing the link. Already some rewards are going to America and Japan and I am happy to post items both nationally and internationally so don’t be afraid to share with all of your networks. If this week is a repeat performance in terms of contributions made and rewards claimed by the end of 14th August we could be firing through the target and thinking about what the next one might be. The £6,500 overall tuition fees for the first year perhaps?

I’ll leave you to ponder that one.

Thank you all so much again.
